I began my career in 1988, supporting executive public speakers with content, and a wide range of creative multi-channel communication tools. In 2004, while working with a client on a nation-wide customer service initiative, I became aware that presentation skills were not only imperative on the stage, but also in the conference room, at the after hours reception, the business lunch, and the initial moments of the first impression one makes with a client or customer. I became a certified Protocol Officer and later an accredited Business Etiquette and International Protocol Consultant through the Protocol School of Washington (http://psow.edu) so that I could offer clients the social skills of highly polished professionals. Consulting in business protocol and personal etiquette involves not only teaching the rules and mechanics of manners but gaining awareness and confidence in social intelligence, which includes non-verbal communication and body language.
