Kent Strunk
Kent Strunk is an attorney and trial lawyer with more than 25 years of experience focused on criminal defense. Throughout his career, he has earned respect for steady preparation, thoughtful strategy, and a consistent commitment to the people he serves. His professional path reflects long-term dedication to the legal field and a careful approach to handling complex matters. He graduated from the Northern Illinois College of Law in 1998 and began practicing criminal defense immediately. Early in his career, he established himself as a capable trial attorney. He has completed more than 100 felony jury trials, including two high-profile murder cases. For three consecutive years, he was recognized by the Minnesota Public Defenders Office for conducting the most jury trials in the 9th Judicial District. Kent's experience also extends beyond traditional legal practice. From March 2022 to July 2024, he contributed to national research efforts through the National Opinion Research Center in Chicago. Strunk married in 2000, and he and his spouse have four children. Their oldest, born in 2001, appeared in a book featuring newborns and later graduated from the University of Minnesota before starting graduate studies. Their second child, born in 2003, earned a degree in Archaeology and plans to pursue graduate education. Their twins, born in 2006, are students at the University of Minnesota, with one studying management and the other involved in theater. As the primary caregiver, he has remained closely involved in their education and activities. A family tradition he values is taking each child to at least one Minnesota Twins game every year.
